DIY Autumn Door Mat

WELCOME the fall season with this DIY door mat! Crafting your perfect autumn welcome mat is as easy as 1,2,3 and only takes about 10 minutes. To make this DIY even easier, we provided a download link for the file we used below - just upload it to your Cricut, print it onto vinyl, and you're ready to get crafting.

MATERIALS

Coir Door Mat (Ours is 18 x 30 inches from Home Depot)
Outdoor Acrylic Paint
Foam Paint Brush
Masking Tape or Painter's Tape
Scissors
Stenciled Quote or Design

Download our "come in & cozy up" design for free HERE. Print it onto thick paper and cut it into a stencil with an X-ACTO knife, or upload the file to your Cricut cutter to make the process easier.

STEP ONE

Arrange your stencil on your doormat in whatever position you prefer. Tape it down tightly to keep it in place. If you're using a Cricut cutter, this step is made a lot easier by printing the stencil on sticky vinyl!

STEP TWO

Using your foam brush, paint your stencil with a dotting motion. Because the coir mat is textured, you'll need to repeat this step three times to layer the paint and ensure it's dark enough.

STEP THREE

Carefully remove the tape and your stencil from the door mat. Allow the paint to dry before placing it outside.

YOU'RE DONE!

Place your brand new welcome mat outside your door. Happy autumn!
