Back-to-School Outfit Guide 2022

Posted by Kelsie Nelson on

It's that time of year when we start dreaming of freshly-sharpened pencils, new notebooks, and the perfect first day of school outfit! Each new school year is a new beginning, and what you choose to wear should help you feel capable and beautiful on the inside and out. We've gathered a few of our favorite back-to-school clothing trends to inspire your campus wardrobe and give you confidence in the classroom. Read on to see five back-to-school outfits that deserve an A+!

1. Tees, Please

Graphic tees will provide the comfort you need without sacrificing your on-trend fashion sense. A tee is a classic, classroom staple that you can dress up with hair accessories and jewelry, or dress down with some denim bottoms and sneakers. Basically, whenever you’re in doubt, a t-shirt is always the right answer.

Although a tee is traditionally worn casually, it is totally acceptable and trendy to wear it more formally! Tie a t-shirt over a dress, wear it with a skirt, or accessorize it with chunky jewelry to make it feel more stylish. It could be fun to slick your hair back to show off your statement jewelry, but wearing your hair down and curled would also look great.

2. Dressed for Success

Have you ever considered wearing a beautiful, flowy dress to school? Well, this is your sign. Pair a dress with white sneakers, and you’ve got a perfectly acceptable school day outfit. It doesn’t need to be a presentation day to rock a nice dress!

3. Overall favorites

Some days you want to feel trendy, without dressing it up too much. Cute overalls may be just what you’ve been looking for! Pair it with a tee shirt and sneakers for a fun and casual look.

4. Study in Skirts

Be comfortable in class! A skirt will serve similar looks to a dress, but you have complete control over what to wear on top. Combine the skirt with a trendy graphic tee or a nice blouse. A skirt is much more comfortable than a pair of jeans, and you’ll look ready for the day.

We are loving the floral skirt trend. Mid-length skirts are also quite popular right now, and we are loving the freedom they give us to move, run, and jump without a care in the world!

5. Blouses and Sweaters

A nice blouse will allow you to look the part of the well-studied, independent woman that you are! A blouse is a step up from a trendy t-shirt. Pair a blouse with a pair of jeans, shorts, or a nice skirt with sandals or casual heels.

Retro sweaters are all of the rage right now, so you can’t go wrong with this beautiful knit sweater. It’s a great opportunity to add some layers and texture. Pair with some shorts while it's still warm outside, or with some overalls and jeans for the cool days ahead!
