Hey Josie, tell us a little about yourself!

Hi friends, I’m Josie! I’m a licensed cosmetologist, a mama, and a business owner. We’re in a busy stage of life right now, with a baby, new businesses, and remodeling a house, but we are enjoying this growing process together as one of our greatest adventures yet. Jesus and my family are the two most important things to me. Above all else, I want to live my life in a way that honors my Savior and demonstrates love to everyone affected by my life.

How did you get your start as a hairstylist?

I have always loved fashion and beauty, so naturally I decided to go to cosmetology school out of high school. I instantly fell in love with the ability to create art through hair + makeup! I am specifically passionate about helping brides create the perfect look for their special day as well as helping women of all ages be able to try new styles by following the easy tips, tricks, and styles that we share weekly on our YouTube channel.

What are your favorite easy hairstyles?

My favorite go-to hairstyles are either a boho braid or a braided low bun, but on these hot summer days you’ll most likely find me rocking a messy bun!  If you’re a mama like me, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about; we get things accomplished in our messy bun!!

Tell us a little bit about raising your family in Tennessee and why you love it!

We love the outdoors and take every chance we get to go boating on the lake or go camping. The smoky mountains are gorgeous, and it feels like a dream to get to raise our little family here in East Tennessee.

How would you describe your personal style?

Seeing new styles come and go and being able to express myself through fashion is so much fun! I love to try new things and get out of my comfort zone but I would describe my style as a neutral lover with a flair of bohemian and vintage.

Do you have any advice for women trying to start their own businesses?

If you’re wanting to start your own business, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! It is scary and hard, but if you’re raw and authentic, people will fall in love with you + your brand. Starting your own business is a grind especially in the early years, but it is so fulfilling and worth it! Connect with people in a real way, treat them right, and give it to Jesus. You will be so amazed at the opportunities that come your way.
