Snacks to Have at a 4th of July BBQ

Posted by Kenzi Didericksen on

BBQs are a 4th of July staple. We’re talking slip ‘n slides, bouncy houses, loud music, and, of course, good food. We’ve put together five refreshing snack ideas to share with your family and friends on the hot summer holiday.

BBQ Snacks Ideas

Gourmet Lunchables

Supplies:

- Summer Sausage, or your favorite meat

- Slices of Cheddar and Colby Jack, or your favorite cheese

- Crackers

Slice the sausage and the cheese into bite-sized pieces. Lay out some cracker options, cheese options, and meat options. If you prefer, you could organize the ingredients into individual containers for each guest.

Frozen Grape Kabobs

Supplies:

- Purple/Green Grapes

- Kabob sticks

This treat is as simple as it sounds! Arrange your grapes onto the skewers and freeze them. It’ll take four to five hours for them to freeze (or throw them in overnight), but be careful not to freeze them for too long, as they may lose some of their flavor. This is a quick and easy treat that will be so refreshing on a hot 4th of July day.

Caramel Apple Slice "Nachos"

Supplies:

- Your favorite Apples

- Caramel (Ice Cream topping)

- Chocolate Chips (optional)

This snack is as easy as 1,2,3: slice the apples, drizzle the caramel overtop, and add chocolate chips or your other favorite toppings. Just like that, you have caramel apple “nachos” for everyone to enjoy.

Cheddar, Bacon, Ranch Roll-Ups

Supplies:

- 12oz-16oz Cream Cheese

- ⅛ cup Heavy Whipping Cream or Whole Milk

- 1 to 1 ¼ Cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese

- Bacon Bits, to taste

- Tortillas

- Ranch Packet

This yummy treat is easy to grab-and-go; perfect for kids to devour in between slip ‘n slide runs, or for adults to snack on as they chat or grill. Just mix together softened, room-temperature cream cheese, the heavy whipping cream/milk, the shredded cheddar cheese, the bacon bits, and the ranch packet. Once it is thoroughly combined and the mixture is at your desired consistency (add more heavy whipping cream/milk if it’s too thick), spread it onto the tortillas. Roll up the tortillas with the mixture inside, then slice the roll to make cinnamon roll like bites.

Veggie Cups

Supplies:

- Small Plastic Cups

- Baby Carrots

- Celery

- Tomato

- Any of your favorite Vegetables

Both healthy and refreshing, this snack is a win for everyone! Begin by squirting ranch into the bottom of the cups then arrange the sliced vegetables in a pleasing way. It’s like a veggie tray, but the portion-sized cups are far more convenient.
