Posted by Mekenna Malan on

It's the holiday season, and we've got the perfect minimal holiday decor DIY to help you deck your halls with something merry and bright! These simple winter scene hoops are just as fun to make as they are customizable. Grab a hot glue gun, put on your favorite Christmas album and get crafting - you'll have a cheerful winter scene to show off in no time.

MATERIALS

Wooden Embroidery Hoops or Metal Hoops
Hot Glue Gun
Faux Winter Greenery
Floral Wire
Wire Cutters
Assorted Holiday Trinkets (Pine Cones, Ornaments, Bottlebrush Trees, etc.)

STEP ONE

Hot glue a branch or two of faux greenery on the outside of the hoop. We liked the look of the greens on just the bottom half, but it would look great all the way around the circle as well!

STEP TWO

Using the hot glue gun (and in some cases, the floral wire), arrange and attach your holiday objects into any scene of your choosing.

STEP THREE

Don't be afraid to get creative! We used twine and mini glittering star ornaments to give one scene a twinkling sky, and used a tiny furry fox to make a woodland scene in another. We even used a Cricut machine to cut out tiny house silhouettes to turn another hoop into a winter village.

STEP FOUR

Reinforce all objects with floral wire until they are fastened into place.

YOU'RE DONE!

Hang your winter creations on a wall in your home for all to see. We loved using different sizes of hoops and arranging them in a group to achieve a "gallery wall" effect. Happy holidays!
